Netbasedbiz.com is, from what I have been told, a very cool, descriptive domain name that I have owned for few years and done absolutely nothing with. Well, we have decided to at least recoupe the 20 bucks that it cost us in registration fees. From this day forward, Netbasedbiz.com will by synomymous with Internet Based Business and we will explore different avenues for monetizing the Netbasebiz.com with information about making money online.

Microsoft founder, Bill Gates sees mobile phones overtaking MP3 players, namely the Ipod, as the top choice for portable music players ,but I say, “Not quite yet.” I think that stand alone MP3 players still have a bit of a run left in them and here is why… With the exception of smart phone and pda phone users, the overwhelming majority of cell phone users buy cell phones primarily because they want to talk to people. It is great to be able take a really grainy picture with your phone, and I enjoy a game of Ms. Pacman on the phone while in a cab as much as the next guy. These secondary features are just that however. Secondary features.
You have to worry about things like weight and size, battery life, download speeds, feature set as compared to full fledged MP3 players, and the temptation of handset makers to turn their MP3 playing cell phones into PDA phones which were supposed to be the IPod killers of last year. I think the next big thing in MP3 players would be the logical inclusion of Bluetooth and Wifi and a Podcast RSS aggregator so that I could just walk into Panara Bread or Starbucks and not only download songs from ITunes or Napster, but the latest podcast from my favorate talk shows and audio blog sites.

Blogger has been good to use over the passed several years, but, it is time to move on. As we get a bit more serious about blogging and monetizing our efforts while we do, we need a weblog application that is a bit more feature rich. We have decided to upgrade to Wordpress 1.5. So long Blogger.

Apparantly, Google had a DNS problem. It has been corrected. Here is a screenshot from from Om Malik that shows the site that popped up when he typed in www.google.com into his browser.

According to the Backpack site, Backpack is so flexible and easy, I’ll use it to…
Plan a personal/business trip
Keep track of what your competitors are doing
Plan a home improvement project
Collaborate on a new business idea
Keep track of houses you’re considering buying
Gather information for a research project
Keep a list of gift ideas for friends and family
Brainstorm product/company names
Build a list of recommended restaurants
and plenty more…
Wow, that is a lot of stuff that I am going to do. I will need a backpack just to keep track of all the stuff that I can do with backpack.

During the last google udate, our PageRank increased from zero to one. As I said the other day, I am not really sure why. The fact that it has, though, intrigues me.
