Research in Motion is about to release a new device in the UK called the BlackBerry 8707v that will run on Vodafone’s 3G highspeed broadband network. Unfortunately it will be a few years before such a device would be offered in the United States.
I wonder if there will be any addition multimedia features soon to follow becasue all that speed is kind of a waste if you are just using it on sending and receiving email and web browsing.

So I am looking at this new Origami device that I cannot for the life of me imagine how Microsoft is going to spin into the next must have device of the 21st century. It looks like half of a tablet PC without the keyboard. Some have even positioned it as the next BlackBerry Killer but with no cellular connectivity there is no way that it can stand up to the claim.
Samsung will introduce the first Origami device tomorrow at CeBit and they are calling it the Samsung Q1.
The Q1 will include:
- 900MHz Intel Celeron Processor
- 500MB of RAM
- 802.11 A /G wireless connection
- Bluetooth
- Windows XP
The question that I have is since Origami devices aren’t small enough to put in your pocket, what is the compelling reason to get one of these instead of just getting a Tablet notebook?
